Why does my flood light stay on?
The first thing I do when a client says "my flood light won't turn off" is not order a new fixture. It's ask about the switch.
Most flood lights stay on for one of these reasons:
- Manual override is on. If the wall switch was turned off and back on within a second or two, many motion lights go into always-on mode. Flip the switch off, wait 30 seconds, then turn it on.

The longer the timer, the more likely the light is still on when you go outside to check it.
